Alice Griffith is a registered LEED for Homes project.  LEED stands for  Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design. It is a building and operations rating system that provides a framework for identifying and implementing practical and measurable sustainable building design, construction, operations and maintenance solutions.  LEED is administered by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), a 501(c)(3) non-profit that works to promote buildings and communities that are environmentally responsible, profitable and healthy places to live and work.
LEED certification provides independent, third-party verification that a building was designed and built using strategies aimed at achieving high performance in key areas of human and environmental health. For the Alice Griffith Community, that includes the ways in which the community and site were designed, the energy efficiency of the building and its systems, like air conditioners, lighting, appliances, and the hot water system, the materials that were used in the building, the plumbing fixtures that save water, and the ventilation systems and materials that affect indoor air quality. If you want to know more about the green features of the building, the property manager has copies of the Project Checklist, Durability Forms and Accountability Forms in the management office.  A Green Living Guide to the property is also available. Click here to view the green features of the community.
